Dave Hancock

MSc MCSP SRP BHSc

Dave Hancock has been a chartered physiotherapist for over 15 years, qualifying from Pinderfields School of Physiotherapy. He holds a diploma in sports physiotherapy from Crewe & Alsager and a Masters degree in sports medicine from Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. He also holds a diploma in musculoskeletal physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University.

After working at St. James’s Hospital, Leeds Rhinos and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, Dave was asked by Blackburn Rovers FC to head their Youth Academy development, responsible for diet, strength/power training and sports science testing, and the rehabilitation and treatment of all developing players at the club. In August 2000 he was head-hunted to join Leeds United Football Club as Head Physiotherapist, in charge of all medical related issues, medical staffing and support to the First Team squad. He was responsible for the design and implementation of their state of the art training facility at Thorp Arch. In 2007 Dave was again approached to become a consultant physio for the first team squad at Chelsea FC, working closely with the premiership team in developing rehabilitation and prehabilitation strategies.

Dave has also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers American football team, the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, and the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida. Dave is currently the Director of Physiotherapy for Virgin Active Health Clubs UK.

Chris Argles

Graduating in 2002 from Leeds Metropolitan University, Chris has been with us since 2005 and specialises in lower limbs and sports injuries. He has worked within professional sport and spent three seasons with Leeds United FC from 2003 to 2006.

Jane Aspin

BSc (Hons) MCSP SRP Jane

Jane graduated from Bradford University in 2002. Having done her junior and senior II rotations in orthopaedic medicine. She now works as one of our senior musculoskeletal physiotherapists with a specific interest in equestrian physiotherapy.

Clare Smith

Group Practice Manager Clare

Having worked with Dave for five years at Leeds United as medical PA, Clare was head-hunted to join him in all operations and administration for the company. She currently oversees the day to day running of the Virgin Active clinics.

Kelly Ashman

Group Lawyer & Head of Recruitment Amy

Kelly qualified as a solicitor from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle in 1997. She spent five years in private practice specialising in personal injury and medical negligence. She went on to specialise in the recruitment of lawyers into private practice and commerce & industry for leading global recruitment companies. Kelly is responsible for all our recruitment and legal needs.

Ben Barker

BSc (Hons) Ost Adam

Ben graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2000 and he specialises in the Osteopathic treatment of sports injuries. He has successfully opened and directed multiple practices and is now onboard to help develop the South England clinics.

Adam Mustoe

BOst

He is our newest member of the team, having graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2006. He has gained experience at number of clinics in the midlands and has a particular interest in structural osteopathy, low back pain and pelvic dysfunction.
